Expected results

The deliverables from the project will comprise a framework for visualisation and analysis of complex information structures evolving in socio-technical systems. This will combine:

  1. state of the art literature review;
  2. best practice advises from existing projects and tools;
  3. new approaches to visualisation and analysis of complex information structures evolving in R&D organisation:
  4. pilot study(es) by using prototype tools demonstration;
  5. final report.

The verification of the results is planned through four joined project' workshops. The expected result of the first workshop is validation of the vision demonstrators on visual augmented analysis of the complex information structure. The goal of the second workshop is validation of the stakeholder viewpoints to visual analysis. The third workshop will be aimed to validation of the methodology and architecture of the prototype tool. The goal of the last workshop is validation of the visualisation tool implementation and case studies.

It is expected that, if successful, the developed framework for visually augmented analyses of complex information structures evolving in socio-technical systems could result in a paradigm shift in our understanding of information processes and dynamics within real hierarchical R&D and manufacturing organizations. This is a shift from past approaches, where limitations in computer aided tools and lack of access to data and information had resulted in practice that capture few information dynamics of interest to daily situations and prevent efficient processing and cognition.
