Končar Enterprise was started in 1921. In 1961, KONČAR Enterprise founded Electrotechnical Institute as an independent scientific institution with the status of a legal person. In 1991 the holding company KONČAR - Electrical Industries Inc. of KONČAR Group has formed KONČAR - Electrical Engineering Institute, Inc. KEEI. The KEEI was given status of an independent company, whose owner leaves the total profit for the purpose of its further development.

Core business of KEEI include development of products for electric power, electrical vehicles, wind power plants, distributed power generation and commuter trains. Business activities of the KEEI are performed in departments, with support of common services. Transformer department covers power, distribution and instrument transformers, reactors, high-voltage and measurement equipment. Switch gear and Control gear Department covers the fields of LV, MV and HV switch gear and control gear, metal-enclosed bus bars and atypical switching devices. Materials and technology department deals with welding, soldering, destructive and non-destructive material testing, fabrication of sintered and composite materials, defectoscopy, heat treatment and vacuum techniques, design of equipment for various technological processes. It also works with oil insulations, conductors and cables. Power electronics and control department covers power electronics, control, information technology, communication and electric motor drives for power industry, transport and industry.

Within the project, KEEI will provide a detailed overview of the processes that are occurring in the electromechanical product-service systems development process. The participants will be able to see how the information evolution occurs in development of the complex systems. Also KEEI will provide the participants help with determining the visualization and analysis related needs. The KEEI experts from the field of the embedded control systems with the knowledge of different software platforms and hardware infrastructure will be employed during the framework architecture planing and development. KEEI is interested in exploring the possibility to utilize results of the visualisation and analysis of complex information structures evolution during product-service system life cycle especially for the rail vehicles and power generation units. This would improve the knowledge spreading in the company and also allow to foster the innovation. KEEI expects that results of the project will increase their R&D capacities and gave them an advantage on the market by being able to adapt to the needs of the market as organization that is more cognitive than before utilizing such approach.
